ARISE Ministry Update

arise-ministry.pngWe are happy to announce that we at GCPC have exceeded our fundraising goals for ARISE Ministry: we had hoped to raise $10,000, but managed over $14,000! ARISE ministry offers outreach, case management and pastoral care to individuals involved in the sex-trade in Toronto. Because of many church’s support for this ministry, the Presbytery of East Toronto is prepared to establish ARISE as an official ministry, and induct The Rev. Deb Rapport, Community Chaplain and Director of ARISE Ministry. Her induction will take place on January 31, 3pm, at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, 1 Greenland Road, Don Mills. She invites everyone from GCPC to attend. An article on ARISE was published earlier this year in the Presbyterian Record; you can read the article here.
