Rev. Chuck Moon, Minister

Head shot of minister
Rev. Chuck Moon

The Rev. Chuck Moon has been serving as a Presbyterian minister since 2006. Chuck served Tolmie Memorial Presbyterian Church and Knox Presbyterian Church in Saugeen Shores (Port Elgin and Burgoyne) for 15 years.

Chuck also served as a hospital chaplain at Saugeen Memorial Hospital for three years.

He graduated from Vancouver School of Theology (M-Div.), Trinity Western University (BA in Leadership) and Columbia Bible College (BA in Caregiving), BC. Before becoming an ordained Presbyterian minister, Chuck served as a youth pastor for two ethnic congregations in Vancouver and Burnaby, BC.

Two life events that are important to Chuck’s faith are the death of his father and his move from Korea to Canada.

The death of his father when he was twelve led Chuck to deepen his faith journey with God. His faith journey began with the question of ‘why?’, but the question of ‘why’ slowly became the question of ‘what can I do today to serve God?’.

By moving from Korea to Canada, Chuck has become a stranger and a visible minority. Such experience has helped Chuck to realize our human desire for our eternal home, God.

Chuck is a lifelong learner, and approaches each day as an opportunity from God to learn, love and forgive. Chuck firmly believes that we are all accepted and loved by God despite our (and his) human imperfections and flaws.

Chuck and his wife, Soyoung, have been married since 2003. They are the grateful parents of two children, Jonathan and Lukas.
