Dear friends,
Report of the Future Directions Committee
This coming Sunday following the Sunday worship service, we will hold a congregation meeting to listen to the report from the Future Directions Committee. We are grateful to continue the conversation about the church building and property. I would like to highlight that we are not going to make any decision in this meeting. We want to allow sufficient time for prayer and reflection on the report’s contents (“How can we serve God the best?”). We depend on God and we depend on each and every member of the congregation’s wisdom and discernment. Two additional congregational meetings will be scheduled later this year.
Quiet prayer and communion service
On Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30 PM, a quiet prayer and communion service takes place at the church. The service entails listening to scriptures, recitation of responsive prayers, partaking in communion, singing hymns, and silence. The primary focus of this gathering is to wholeheartedly place ourselves in the presence of God, prioritizing the act of being rather than presenting a list of our needs. Future 2023 dates are September 27, October 25, November 29, December 21 (the Longest Night), and March 27, April 24, May 29, and June 26, 2024.
In Christ,
— Rev. Chuck Moon
