Vacation Bible Camp

March is here and that means only a few more months to plan for summer activities, including Vacation Bible Camp! From July 1st to 5th GCPC will once again welcome children from our congregation and community for a week of singing, art, games, storytelling and worship.

This year the theme is: Who is My Neighbour? Learning to Love Like Jesus

Neighbours are more than the people who live in our communities. Jesus challenged those around him to rethink their familiar ideas about who our neighbours are, and what it means to be one. In doing so, he stretched our understanding of the love of God. In VBC this year, through songs and stories and activities, children will explore what it means to follow the way of Jesus and to show care and compassion for neighbours close at hand, and around the world.

If you have children, or know of children who would like to be part of our Vacation Bible Camp, here are the details:

Date: Monday July 1st to Friday July 5th (closing worship on Sunday July 7th)

Time: 9:00 – 12:00

Cost: $20 per child

Ages: 4 – 12 (all children must be fully toilet trained and must have turned four beforethe beginning of camp)

Please note: Because of limitations of space and staff, we can only accommodate 30 children. Pre-registration is required.

Please contact Lisa Milroy in the church office to register.

Also, we need helpers!  Vacation Bible Camp is always a great week, but it is a lot of work and requires many dedicated helpers. If you love children and would like to be part of Vacation Bible Camp, either during the planning stages, or during the week of camp, please speak to Laura Alary, or leave a message with Lisa Milroy in the office. We need people to help with: registration, decorations, set-up, arts and crafts, games, snack, and accompanying the children to their various activities. This is a great way for high school students to fulfill their requirements for community service hours.
