HAITI URGENT APPEAL

Haiti-appeal.gifPresbyterian World Service & Development is assisting victims of the earthquake through the Action by Churches Together Alliance. PWS&D sent $50,000 as a first response to support ACT members in Haiti as they assess the needs of survivors and transport equipment to build water purification systems and latrines to avoid the outbreak of disease. Donations made through PWS&D will be matched 1:1 by CIDA. Please make a donation.

Scottish Fling – January 23

scottish-party.gifJanuary 23, 7pm to 10pm in the church hall. Help kick off our 50th Anniversary with a Scottish party! This will be a fun night for the whole family and will include Scottish dancing, stories, food and music to help us celebrate our Presbyterian roots. Kilt and tartans are welcome! Be prepared to join in the singing and dancing. This is a potluck event: everyone is asked to bring a finger food item (preferably with Scottish roots). Sign up in the church hall.

Wheels to Worship

drivetochurch.gifNeed a lift to worship on a Sunday morning? Guildwood Church has set up a local Sunday-morning-drive program for those who could use a ride. Call the church during regular office hours (Mon-Thurs during the morning) and you’ll be put in touch with our drive coordinator. We’ve got several volunteers on hand who would be more than happy to provide you with a round trip!

Women’s Pot Luck – November 27

angel.gifWomen are invited to attend a time of preparation for the Advent Season, spending a relaxed evening enjoying the Reason for the Season on November 27, 6:30 PM. Please bring along a Christmas decoration or ornament that has a special meaning for you. Call the church office for more information, or write your name on the “sign up” sheet on the bulletin board if you know you’d like to attend.
